This picturesque town situated on the Jurassic Coast is characterised by its breath-taking views and hundreds of year’s worth of character. It offers many family friendly activities, retail therapy in the town’s unique shops, and a variety of quality eating establishments.

The harbour, known as the Cobb is one of the town’s most significant landmarks. It was built in the thirteenth - century and there are opportunities for fishing trips from there. The cliffs around Lyme Regis date back to the Jurassic Period and offer fantastic fossil hunting opportunities. The nearby Charmouth Heritage Coast Centre offers hands on displays and information about fossils and fossil hunting.

Lyme Regis has featured in a number of literary works including Jane Austen’s ‘Persuasion’ and  ‘The French Lieutenant’s Woman’ by local author John Fowles. Both novels have been filmed in Lyme Regis.
