This area of coastline offers an amazing contrast, breathtaking scenery and places of interest.
In December 2001, ninety-five miles of the East Devon and Dorset Coastline was awarded World Heritage Site status, ranking the Jurassic Coast as one of the natural wonders of the world. For intrepid fossil hunters there are fantastic opportunities within the beaches around Lyme Regis.
To the west of Lyme, is the Undercliff National Nature Reserve, one of the wildest and most unspoilt areas of the coast and accessible only to walkers. For the more adventurous the Heritage Coast footpath stretches for over twenty miles to the east and west of Lyme.
In addition, the area boasts ancient sites from Iron Age fortresses to Roman Amphitheatres.
For those of you who crave something more, we recommend a visit to Beer, a romantic fishing port 10 minutes drive from the Hotel. If you stop on the way at Axmouth or Seaton, there is a mountain of leisure amenities to entertain you.
